Super Chevy Show 2016

The Super Chevy Show series has been going on for over 30 years now and 2016 kicked off with the event in Memphis, Tennessee. Great weather and a ton of cars brought out record crowds to indulge their love of all things Chevrolet. Memphis offered a lot to the spectators: car show, drag racing, exhibition runs, swap meet, and vendor area.

The Super Chevy Shows consist of a series of six multifaceted events that involve a car show, drag racing and a swap meet. The car show field at the 2016 Memphis event was filled to overflowing this year and there are several ways to enjoy the area. If you simply want to cruise in and hang out you can enter as a non-judged car. If you prefer to have your car judged, it is as simple as registering as a judged car.

While there are classes for Nova, Camaro, and many other select groups among the many classes, one stands above them all, the Gold Class. This is a class that is for the best of the best and the cars compete against each other for top awards. Sunday morning we ventured over to the show field and took some shots of a few of our favorites in the Gold Class. These photos will give you a feel for the caliber of the cars in the class, and who knows, maybe you’ll find yourself “going for the gold” at a future Super Chevy Show.

Memphis International Raceway was a flurry of activity on Saturday morning as hundreds of racers lined up for test-and-tune sessions. The event ran three days with Friday consisting of racer registration and some track runs.
